Chavez does not hate Americans. In fact, he has sold millions of dollars of heavily subsidized oil to poor Americans. He has also said that while he opposes Bush, he considers the American people "our friends."

He was indeed elected into office. Not only were the elections monitered and certified by the Organization of Latin American States, the Carter Center, and the European Union (since when did we ever have moniters in our elections), and accepted by the main opposition candidate, Rosales, numerous foreign polling companies had Chavez winning with about 60% of the votes versus 25 to 30 for the opposition.

Yeah...Stalin called us his American Friends too.

So too did Castro "Our American Friends to the North" he has called us often...but we are far from friends.

And the most recent antagonist of the US to refer to us as friends was Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of Iran...in a recent lengthy, open letter to the American public.

Anyway, its semantics. I can say "my friends" addressing a room full of people I really don't give a damn about, but what really matters is my actions. A man who's actions are nationalizing most industries, getting his legislature to allow him to rule by decree (Jan 19, 2007) and his move to abolish term limits for presidents. This does not seem like the actions of a head of state friendly to the US.

Why do we "lie" when you see in all the news on TV Chavez spouting off hate for us? Stating he "opposes" Bush is mildly putting what he actually said about Bush.
A lot may not agree nor like Bush, but for one to attack our President in the manner Chavez is doing will not gain him any popularity contest. A lot overseas in Europe don't like Bush either but when I am over there I don't hear those kinds of things nor read about it in their own local newspapers.

If you want to see how well socialism worked take a trip to Eastern Europe. I would like to give you some examples of the great things it produces: 60% unemployment; lack of clean water; lack of power; pollution beyond imagination; living in crappy tenements; lack of medical care; overall misery.
I suggest you stop absorbing everything your commie university professor preaches to you and get out in the real world.
Chaves can take his oil and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. I would rather freeze than take oil from that dictator. I don't use Citgo anymore either.
To summarize if you think that America is so bad and socialism is the way to go - feel free to leave. Go experience the warm embrace of socialism. I am sure your hero Chavez would be happy to take you

this is the only excuse they have, curiously, to justify stealing from the working type. to declare that stealing from the working type is rather helping them is used lower back and lower back lower back with the help of the wealthy ruling elites because of the fact they think of on the grounds that Reagan used it, (and the working type has been fooled into questioning that they might desire to love Reagan, while they actually do no longer, because of the fact they think of that others loved Reagan, and additionally they have become ambivalent and perplexed approximately it while rather no person in the working type has ever loved him. Why might they?), conservatives can ruin out with utilising the comparable lie.

The US government wants Chavez out because they are going after the oil. They are setting up bases in Paraguay for an all out war coalition with as many countries as possible. That's why Bush has been in Latin American and that's why they lie about Chavez.

I for one see Chavez as a dangerous leader. Rather than engage in diplomacy, or bi-or-multilateral agreements, he spews hateful rhetoric. His program of government takeover of key industries will bring his government, and unfortunately, his people down. People around the world should keep an eye on this maniac.

Why do conservatives continue to deny reality? These are scientific polls from foreign corporations. Did Chavez buy them off too?

You won't believe the election results and you won't believe the scientific polls from foreign and including American pollling companies either.

Do you just make up your own reality?

The location of your 'facts' says it all. You use the communist broadcasting service (CBS) and use "polls" to support your views.

If i walk into a vegetarian restaurant, and poll people about hunting, what kind of results would I get?

Typical liberal extremist.....manufacturing information to support an opinion facts do not support.
