i use to have the SAME problem.
you want to have makeup on, but don't want it to be too noticeable, right? here's a trick. if you have LIGHT eyes[such as blue, green, hazel.] use a darker eye shadow..but don't put too much on. if you have dark eyes use lighter eye shadow.. if you put on eyeliner.. use a black. don't pack it on. just go over your eyes with it 2 times. :] and then just wear a very light lipstick with little lip gloss over it. it always works for me. [oh and by the way if you put on eyeliner make sure to put on a little mascara too.] If you want foundation, make sure you find some with your skin tone. and smooth it out over your face AND neck.
that's just some tips i have found out by myself. but if you have a nearby store called BELKS, they can help you with your makeup and show you the colors/ and foundation and a lot of other things. :]
Good luck

Hi Kathy,
Maybe you could wear a light foundation -- one that will give you natural coverage. If you want something even lighter than a foundation, try a tinted moisturizer -- Bobbi Brown (from what I hear) makes great tinted moisturizers.
Maybe put on a little bit of mascara (either brown or black, depending on your hair color), and then maybe a little bit of blush (or just let the natural pink of your cheeks show through) and a soft, natural-looking lipstick.
You could even try eyeshadows -- there are many subtle, shimmery eyeshadows that are very close to the skin color. A very popular one is Kitten from Stila, although that really depends on how much you put on and what your natural skintone is.
Good luck! Let your natural beauty show through :).

Well if you want to get something that's not too expensive but still works well is TruBlend by CoverGirl. Use a sponge and lightly spread it on your face. Use a concealer after if needed. You can also add a bronzer to make your face glowing and radiant so you can look more natural .For your eyes, use earthy tones. Browns, golds etc. For eyeliner and mascara use brown. You can also use black for mascara, but not alot. For your lips, you can just use a lip balm or clear lip gloss.
- If you want something better for your skin, you can use the products from Clinique. Go to Macy's or Dillards and ask the people working there what kind of look you're going for.

If you want to keep it natural, make sure you use something that compliments or is similar to your skin tone, knowing your skin type is important too. I would recommend something like Bare Escentuals/ Bare Minerals (http://bareescentuals.com/) They use Minerals as they're base formula, free of preservatives, oil, fragrance "bringing out your natural beauty" they have formulas for every skin type and tone.
-Knowing how to put on your makeup is also important:
-Make sure your concealer has a yellow tone to it because it can hide all the impurities without adding any extra color to your skin, giving you a natural look.
-Your blush color should be similar to the color of your cheeks after you worked out.
-Since your going for the natural look and if you want to keep it light, You can skip the eye liner or eye shadows, but using earthy tones would be your best choice.
-Your foundation like I said before, should match your skin tone.
-Also try not to layer your face with makeup, Try to keep it light. If this is your first time wearing makeup, make sure you know your skin type, if you have sensitive skin and don't know...you'll find out in an uncomfortable way.

well for school i just put a dusting of pressed powder over my face (mostly on the t-zone as this is where it is shiny the most for me!) and some lip gloss and sometimes clear mascara, and maybe a browny/black mascara somedays.
You want to look natural.
No one wants to look like theve caked on make up like some girls at my school who have foundation lines... ahh that looks SO bad lol!
o and bring a travel pressed powder in your back for touch ups during the day.
I like body shop stuff, also body shop born lippy is really great and smells so nice : D

Instead of using thick, heavy foundation, use a tinted moisturiser with SPF 15 or something similar in it. Don't use powder, as it'll be spotted easily. For mascara, you can probably get away with wearing black if you only use one layer. Always curl eyelashes before to get an extra curl. If you want to keep it a bit safer, go for clear mascara. Groom brows with a brow brush and you can apply a bit of eyebrow pencil lightly if you want. For cheeks, you can use a cheek tint. Use a TINY bit and rub into the apples of your cheeks.
For lips, use light, tinted lip balm.

I think the question should be what colors. Find a foundation that matches your skintone and stick to neutral shades. Try a brown shadow and use it lightly along with some mascara.
Don't use anything too dark, or too bright.
