You're question is extremely vague.. Next time, type down the actual problem, so we can get an idea of what you're wanting to solve.

I'm assuming you have a 55 kg man, who's jumping from an 800m height. How long will it take him to splat on the concrete below????

Well...

Since we know his acceleration is 9.8 m/s² downward, and we're assuming (since you failed to mention it) he's falling down and not jumping off... we have....

y = ½ g t² + vi t + h

g = -9.8 m/s²
vi = 0 m/s
h = 800 m
y = 0 m

0 = ½ (-9.8)t² + 800

t = 12.8 s

Do the math acceleration =10m per second squared.
