I would think of Bell off of beauty and the beast. A beautiful girl who can find love and kindness in even the most unlikable of places. Congrats!

What a beautiful name, I never heard of it before. I think of a petite, beautiful child.
A Nickname could be anything. It doesn't have to be from the name. My children's nicknames came about because of their personality. My one daughter her father calls her his little princess. One of my sons nicknames was Fe-Fe because his baby sister couldn't say Christopher. Of course we tried only using that in the walls of our home. Your daughter could be called:

La-La
Ella
Bebe
Sweet Pea
Ara-la

the nickname depends on the child's personality... unless you want to go with the most popular one, which would be bella.
my son's nickname is doozer cause he looked just like one of the doozers on fraggle rock when he was a baby! my daughter's nickname is maureen cause she looks exactly like maureen ohara from the movies! and we haven't really set a nickname for my 3 month old son yet, but maybe soon!
i think it all depends on what fits the child. it doesn't matter what kind of girl anyone thinks of when they hear that name. all that matters is that when YOU hear that name, you think of your daughter and smile!
