I think (Peter's answer)your first answer is close to being right.
Both you and your spouse/partner would have to be very, very broad minded.
On the other hand, we do own our thoughts.
In some cases, it would be better to keep that one privacy we have to our self.
It's bad enough when we can sometimes read each others Mind.
Interesting question and a good thing that no one knows some of my thoughts. WOW!!

I think reading my mind would drive my husband crazy... I know reading his would drive me crazy..
There are times when it might come in handy such as when I am angry and don't want to tell him it's because he left the cap off the toothpaste for the 400 millionth time..
But as a general rule reeading someone elses mind can only lead to trouble... I know i have thought "I could just kill you" or " I wonder how long I could hold your head under water without killing you.... At least you might shut up as long as your head is under" Both things I would never actually do but things I have thought in moments of frustration or anger...
Heck even my mental mantra "I am not listening la la la la, I am not listening" that I use when he wants to tell me about some car thing could cause trouble...

well...its quite difficult to answer...coz there is something called telepathy n partners those are 'made for each other' do understand whats goin on each other's mind...
but if they had access to all the data( as in any crap goin on) in ur mind...there would b too much of transparency ...n thoughts that are not supposed to move outta ur head would create lotta problem....
i mean are u ever gonna get privacy if he\she could read ur mind.....
if ur angry u may think of lotta stuff which may not b reasonable n should be confined to the top floor of our anatomy...it would create lots of problems among couples coz we may 'behave' ourslves in order to keep the relationship goin on...but u do need some space where u got no restrictions on what u think, how u think...
n its only coz of this privacy of mind...that we are still 'social' animals...

I would be in a world of >*&^. And most men or women as well. Being able to read a person's mind takes away the fun of being a human being. The fun of mystery.

If my guy could read my mind, he'd love me more coz im never dishonest in relationships. If I am, I'll just tell him.
He'd better not get into trouble from me if I read his mind, or he'll be in trouble BIG time!

Disaster.
If everything can be read. Its disaster.
Its sad. Its devastating. Its troublesome and i know for a fact you'd wish u never ever could read their minds.
I cant read minds or anything but i have a very very very strong instinct inside me and i pick up fast on peoples body languange and reactions - in a way i know what their thinking (in a way) and it sucks. ..
Why? Cause it makes me TOO careful.. i think TOO much.
So, its a NO MIND READING for me..

I would say it could be good as far as communication goes to know what the other is thinking, but it could also backfire.
When I go out with my husband it is fine for him to look at another girls innocently and admire their looks or other assets. I openly agree with him and comment on women as well...
but if i were to comment on other men openly, he gets offended.
That is when I say it is better not to know what someone is thinking.
The standards are different for men than they are for women.

both. if he can read my mind, he could have killed himself of shame or be more deserving coz i play it clean. If i can read his mind, i could have dump him long time ago coz i will clearly see the lies & deceits.... if he has.
