Nobody is going to agree with me - since I am the last person on earth without a cell phone... but I am cheap and I feel like a cell phone cost would be money down the toilet... unless you really need one to conduct business, if you do that sort of work where it might be bad if clients can't reach you immediately. But I have never had one and I won't get one unless a REAL need arises. Do you really what people calling and bugging you anywhere and everywhere anyways? I have friends whose boyfriends or husbands or moms get mad if they don't pick up the cell... they think you must be ignoring them... it makes it very hard to ignore people, or to get back with them when you feel like it. I have voicemail and email and thats cool with me --- because then I can just respond when I feel like it.

Wow, I am not the only late bloomer regarding having a cell phone.
I actually did get one about 6 months ago and now I can't leave home without it. I have become one of those "where's my cell phone?" people that I used to not understand.
I used to think it was great to leave my house and not be bothered, but now I am so used to it I have to have it. I am not one to use it for idle talk though.
It is a great convenience for work, calling if I am running a little late for an appointment, or asking for directions if need be, and of course being able to be accessible to my kids.
My bills never go over the minutes because I do just use it as necessary and use my home phone for any long visits with friends or relatives.
I still don't understand how people can have lengthy conversations on their cell phones when they are sittting right next to their home phones, I really can't figure that out! I have seen that happen numerous times.
I know this quite a lengthy answer to your question but, I guess my answer would be yes, get one, at least you don't have to stop and look for a pay phone if you are on the road. Shop around, there are quite a few plans out there, you can find one that suits what is compatible with your needs.
Okay, I am finished, I'll quit ramblilng on........
........................Let us know if you get one! Bye

I think since most people have then you don't need it. But if you have kids or are planning a trip away from home a cell phone might be handy. You can just get prepaid one and try it out. Don't talk on it a lot because they get you with extra minutes, only use for emergencies

Buy one. If you are concerned with the additional expense, buy and 2nd hand phone or chose a phone with at least the basic necessary features such as sms messging and can make calls. You don't have to buy the latest model, just chose a phone and a plan that could work for you.

i fairly ought to care a lot less about ipods, ipads, cellphones ect. yet workstation were round because the previous due 30s. They used to take up fairly a lot of area, yet they nonetheless existed. the first microprocessor replaced into equipped in the early 70s. that still leap frogged computing technologies and with assistance from 1977 we were getting to be conscious of s o very very a lot. pcs arent in simple terms pcs that folk use for artwork and leisure. Our information of technological information and our means to calculate issues and construct fashions via pcs has been incomprehensibly replaced. I agree that because now people have pcs and theyre replacing human interaction further and extra, or perhaps as i dont trust the international now operating its records on pcs (that should be hacked), pcs were the great invention we've ever equipped. it is going to eventually calculate issues we under no circumstances knew accessible, carry incalculable quantities of records, help construct issues swifter, more cost-effective, more advantageous productively. virtually each commercial plant or producer is utilizing robotic artwork assembly strains that are VERY VERY precise and more straightforward to fabricate. This also has led to issues we couldnt do formerly by way of lack of precision. we can decrease diamonds and verify that each one supplies are appropriate right down to even micrometers or nanometers. It has allowed us to larger really layout and verify out progression designs and do math lets in person-friendly words dream of doing. pcs has replaced us. with out pcs it ought to appear like going again into the darkish a even as. Ipods, ipads, all those under no circumstances extremely helped everybody benefit something. Celll phones were also an excellent leap foward yet living house phones can really make up the hollow in verbal change if we were given conscious of it.

It depends if you travel a lot or do a lot of driving get one; I only got mine after spending 2 hours sitting on a highway in the hot az heat (yup the heat is hot)
But if you don’t really find the need to make calls while out of the house id say forget it, they can be quite pricy especially when you are first sighing up.

Honestly... I don't know what I would do without my cell phone!
I think I use it more than my land-line.
Trust me, you will be better off with one & after a month or so you will wonder what you did without it :-)
