Believe it or not, try dishwashing soap in a bucket of hot water. It worked for me. Make up a bucket of hot sudsy water and pour away. Reapply if necessary as often as needed. It won't kill the grass or harm pets.

RE:
Looking for a truly pet safe insecticide or remedy for fire ants..To broadcast on lawn?
I am fortunate enough to live where there are no creepy-crawlies, but have a friend plagued with fire ants. She has two dogs.
Please no 'gas in the nest' or boiling water, etc..
This needs to be broadcast on the lawn.

Okay I learned this one 6 months ago, we have wicked bad fire ant mounds here in Louisiana and a native told me this formula and works great to keep my 2.5 yr old son safe in the yard also works for wasps and hornets too. Take a 5 gallon bucket and fill with water then once it's pretty full add about 1/4 bottle of Dawn dish soap enough to make the water turn blue. Swirl your arm into it to mix and squish the soap blobs up with your hands till its mixed well. Now take a little stick and poke it into the ant mound all the way to the bottom. Now poor the mixture over it till the mound is wiped out. One bucket will do 4-5 mounds usually. Also works well inside a spray bottle with spray shot nozzle for flying pets. Sometimes you might need to hit a mound again in 24 hours, but usually they will be completely dead in 24 hours. If he has problems with flys coming indoors or buzzing around picknics or anything tell him to fill up a gallon zip lock bag with water and just lay it next to the entrance or on the table and it will keep them away. Try these they work great and cost just a bottle of dawn soap, and no pesticides, completely safe for animals! Good luck

There really isn't a "safe" insecticide, other than, perhaps, pyrethrin, which doesn't really have an effect on fire ants. One can, however use their very aggressive and antagonistic natures against them. They are very territorial and will attack other fire ants who are not from their own mounds. If you saturate the mounds with vinegar (safe and nontoxic), it damages their ability to identify the members of their own communities, which appears to be done by smell, and they will savagely attack one another in their own mounds until none are left. If one has been attacked on one's own property, repeatedly, for no apparent reason, this can be rather satisfying in a somewhat perverse manner.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7jW
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Ortho makes Bug*b*Gon MAX that has the active ingredient bifenthrin. This chemical has been proven to be safe on pets and people. It is a good idea, however, to keep the pets off until it has been sprinkled and dries.
This chemical is also in Scotts Summer fertilizer with Summerguard or the 3rd step in their 4 step fertilizer program.

Ant Chalk. Diatomaceous earth, Boric Acid. they are all related.
EDit: I didn't see the lawn part. these items don't work to well wet. I thought it was going onto a patio. You should research it still. It may reduce the efficacy doesn't mean it won't help. Maybe ant baits might do the trick.

Stick with the name brands, and read the labels completely before you purchase. Ortho products can be used, but water them into the ground ( set a sprinkler ) The yard will be safe for your pets as soon as it dries.
