Hi,

I'm trying affiliate marketing for the first time. I'm confused as to my final step.

I have done everything for a site that will promote a product EXCEPT place the affiliate links. Pretty smart, huh?

My affiliate product is through commission junction. I have a cj user #. Let's say it's 12345

I'm thinking that the link will be
www.productname.com/12345

Is this correct?

If not, where do I get the link for the page. I want to embed this link into my text, I don't want their slogans, banners, etc.

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

I will assume that you have applied to various programs in Commission Junction and your site has been approved by these programs (otherwise the first step is to choose the program you want to promote)

1. Log into CJ.com

2. On the tabs at the top, click on GET LINKS

3. Below that tab, a new set of tab will appear. Click on BY RELATIONSHIP (this is the set of advertisers where you have already been approved)

4. Choose the products you want and click on VIEW LINKS. It will be shown like this:

TaxBrain Online Tax Service » View Links
VistaPrint.com » View Links
CoutureCandy.com » View Links » View Products

5. For example, you clicked on VistaPrint VIEW LINKS, you will be taken to a page where you can find ALL types of banners and text links that VistaPrint has and that you can use. Go to the last column that says GET LINKS and click on either

Get JavaScript
Get HTML

6. A popup will appear where you can configure the link and get the code that you will put on your website. You can choose to encrypt the link, to use the link in your email, hide tracking code in the link and set link to open in a new browser window.

Note that you need to use the code EXACTLY as it is otherwise CJ.com might not be able to properly track your impressions and sales.

OF course the most popular on many people start with is clickbank, which deals strictly with downloadable digital products. They have some 100,000 affiliates marketing over 8,000 active products. Because there's no reproduction cost, these products pay 50% or more comission. paydotcom is another one that seems to deal in mostly? digital products. When you are more established and ready to be interviewed by a potential associate you can graduate to CPA affiliate networks, there are tons out there, Neverblue is typical.

One way is to do everything as per the affiliate marketing company instruction. After you have completed your link with company's banner and all. Click on it. And then "copy & paste" the link you see on the URL box, then paste it onto the text box tht you want to use. In that way you will not lose any important coding. The way you suggested maynot work.

I know you didnt ask, but are you looking for other affiliate programs? I tried CJ, Clickbank, Bizoppnetwork and although I made a bit of money it was hard work to make it. Then I found MN and things got better they have tons of pdf's explaining how to make money online.

They also have free websites and banners for each of their products, they will even have one of their staff custom design you one. And right now if you follow this link they will give you up to $45 in bonuses just for signing up.

Make up to $175 per sale
