Sears, Jiffy Lube, The Grease Monkey and most Repair Garages The job is so simple. You can save alot by doing it yourself.Get a set of ramps, oil fiter wrench, an adjustable wrench to remove oil drain plug, some mechanics hand towels and an oil drain pan.Place vehicle on ramps.Remove drain plug and drain oil into pan. While draining, remove the filter.Replace new filter having already spreading a thin layer of oil on rubber seal.Hand tighten only.Replace drain plug and add new oil.The used oil can be put in an old plastic container like milk jug.Drain oil can be recycled at local Auto Store.

If you want your engine to keep running i suggest u dont get the oil changed at walmart. I'v worked there and they just dont care about anything except their paychecks. I've seen em put the wrong size plugs in, they have stripped plugs then glued them to seal, and yes they have even provided an oil change and actually forget to put the new oil in. Your best bet is either to go to a Jiffy-Lube or get you a good reliable mechanic that you trust.

i had a good experience with Midas.

i once had a great Jetta and let Jiffy Lube change the oil. The oil leaked after that and then all hell broke loose and it became a giant paperweight.

So, i never let anyone but a *real* mechanic change my oil now. Those kids at a quicklube just watch a video and then get put out on the floor. It's scary.

No your husband can do it. It is also cheaper. An oil filter is not hard at all. You just need an oil filter wrench and the filter itself is only around 6 bucks. You will only need about 4-5 quarts of oil. Just figure out what wieght you need and go ahead and have him do it. cant mess up too bad. lol. And again like a said doing it yourself is a HUGE money saver!!!

I like NEAM's answer ! I've seen what the Wal-Mart's Kids can do.I don't know if they use an air rachet or what to put the pan's plug in. I've seen'em with striped threads & glue ( permatex) to keep it from leaking.

i dont know where you live or what is in your area but i work at pepboys and would suggest a honda acura shop or if you go to anyother shop request that they only use castrol gtx oil (it doesnt leave sludge in you engine) and a purolator filter.
