theres no very seious risks of listening to an ipod. it would do you good not to listen to it on full blast though. you can do it for a fairly long amount of time say 2 or 3 hours without damaging your ears, but try not to do that. if you listened to it to loud for to long when you stop your ears will be ringing. take that as a sign to tone it down a bit next time. I'm sure you don't want that annoying ringing to come back.

the risks can be hearing it very loud you may want not listen to it very often, and if you have the big ipod one with the video it can hurt your eyes too.

Yes, it can damage your hearing. But if you don't listen musics too loud, it's not a problem. iPod can manage maximum volume.

yes. for starters don't use their head phones to much. if you do keep them on a fair volume. don't go to high. also if you could afford it by popper head phones that offer no sound loss (noise cancelling). meaning they block out the sound around you and you only get to hear the music. they often cost a bit more (in the 100 dollar and up range) but are worth it because you wont have to turn the up music to load to hear it.
