People have died on the operating table and have been revived but I doubt your grandpa's story because religion suppresses the fact that if there is an afterlife, it's without a human body (the body stays and doesn't go anywhere). If some sort of spirit lives, it's like a puff of smoke. No mouth, digestive system or bowel movements. There is absolutely no need for food if such a thing as an afterlife really exists.

it is very possible the doctors are getting it wrong, just because some says they are dead is not always true. under very low pressure (a failing heart) your Arteries will sink into your skin, the pressure could be so low that no pulse is felt, the body cannot survive for very long in this state and oxygen starvation to the brain will occur. now when oxygen is not available to the brain your cells produce a toxin, this toxin breaks down any cells starving from oxygen . The bi-product of this process is a powerful chemical that creates a feeling of intense pleasure, if it effects other parts of the brain such as the part that deals with sight an intense white light is created (all neurones firing). this is what studies have shown, and makes sense to me. As for all the stories that cannot be explained by this, they have been exaggerated, many-fold. where's the fun in in just telling someone "they opened their eyes" , why not "they opened their eyes and spoke to them for a whole hour, and then said jesus is coming, then ate a meal" it's all a game of Chinese Whispers , slowly changed to suit each teller. don't forget their is a psychological illness where someone must compulsively lie, only one of these people has got to write a book and make it believable, and we're all screwed!!!!

On rare occasion, though more frequently in less developed areas of the world, a person may appear and be pronounced dead without actually being dead. Their breathing and heart rate can fall very low in certain circumstances, eluding detection by the doctors or nurses. Hours later, the person may come to again and though they weren't really dead, people who thought they were could mistakenly think they had risen from the grave.
There are also cases of someone being clinically dead being revived again, however this only happens under certain circumstances. To be clinically dead your heart must stop. When this happens, oxygen cannot reach your brain or vital organs and your brain will begin to die in a matter of minutes. If they get your heart beating before too much of your brain dies, you can be revived though you may have brain damage.
In rare instances, if a person is suffering from hypothermia, and their core body temperature dropped rapidly, a person can survive for quite a while with no heart beat and be revived
A little girl in Canada was revived after she fell into icy water and her heart stopped for over an hour.
This was possible because conditions were just right for her brain and core body temperature to cool rapidly to the right temperature and her brain cells slowed and required less oxygen. It's a very rare situation though.
A person who is actually dead and not in any suspended state due to hypothermia, cannot come back. Their brain cells have died and have been destroyed in the process.

No...no...no..this is not any kind of hallucination or any schizophrenic memory. It is true and people like them must get fame or some kind of achievement award. Before them, people who died and came back to life, they told that they met "YAM" or the ruler of hell. Your grandpa's gone to heaven and I know that these cases appear once in a millenium or something like that and that too serving people of heaven by fish. It's great.
I read in books that people who do good deeds go there and when the "sukh bhog" or the enjoyment over there is over then they return to earth.
Sorry boy, but I don't know any award for your one in a quintillion (1000000000000000000) grandpa. These cases need to be publicized. This is not, I'm shocked. But this shall remain in your heart and in your relatives' mind that someone in our family did the unbelieveable and this enjoyment within the heart is very nice to feel. More than media crowding at your house and taking interviews till the last breath of your grandpa.

Have you ever herd of them digging up a coffin and found where the person buried had tried to dig there way out? That is why they put a string inside the coffin leading to the out side to a little bell so in case they buried some one alive they could ring the bell and some one would dig them up. That is where the phrase came from saved by the bell. That is before they started embalming people.

yes. there are lots of stories of people seeing the afterlife in the hospital, then they wake up and come back to life.
for example, if you know the story about roy when he got bitten in the neck by his tiger, it showed him in some show where he said that he died for 10 seconds and saw the afterlife.
on the other hand, some people say that the only light they see, is the light coming from the ceiling.

Yes, my exboyfriends mom died...the doctor said she was dead...but after a while she had a pulse. She said that she died and he told me that she brought spirits back with her and she can hear them around her..And he has seen them too.scary. So I believ its true because there are so many things that we dont knw about this world....even when people tell us experiencs we still dont beleive so its hard to get to the point of accepting this just because it is so wierd to people. I believe it though
