So far, they have found that vitamin C& E work the best.
You might try eating fruits high in citric acid such as grapefruit, lemons, oranges and limes.
In addition take a vitamin supplement of vitamin A & E.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Dark under eye circles are hereditary and usually the only thing you can do is camouflage them with concealer. Puffy eyes are from fluid retention. You can put a couple slices of a cucumber on them and recline for a half hour or so until the puffiness goes away.

Cucumbers are great, also steeped calomaile tea bags lay them on your eye area for a couple of hours, worse case scenario go to Elizabeth Arden and they have color match foundation, they scan your skin for pigmentation's and make the foundation there that completely matches your skin, also if you go you get a free small bottle of your own foundation whether you make a purchase or not, I usually go and purchase a bottle and have them make 2 small free bottles one of a lighter shade than my skin one a little darker to add in highlighting my own skin color, but it works great! I am bi-racial and have a very different type of skin tone, it is very hard to find foundation that matches, this stuff works so good I can dab it under my eyes or on a blemish and put no other foundation anywhere else on my face and it covers the infraction without anyone even knowing I have foundation on that spot. Also La come make a under eye treatment that has color reflectors in it, so when the light hits your under eye area it conceals any eye circles, it works pretty good, but I prefer the Elizabeth Arden stuff first.

This may sound a bit weird but it works.
Soak teabags and put them in the fridge in the morning.
Then before going to sleep get the teabags out and put them underyour eye for about 3-5 minutes.
