I seem to remember when I was a kid, putting a DVD in a CD player and hearing the audio. I'm wondering if I could do that here. Also if it would eject okay and everything even if it didn't work (I don't want to wreck my CD player).

It will burn your CD player as well :) that was lighter part of it, but if your player supports DVDs then it will play it, otherwise it wont.
