From what country are you from?? Most Labor Laws provides mandatory rest time for employees that employers is obligated to abide. It doesn't care how much your job calls for and your employer should be able to redirect those jobs to another person during your absence. Please go and read your rights as an employee. And always remember, your health is the most important thing you have to protect so you can continuously and gainfully support your family.

You have to "work" up to it. Remember, planning is key.
1st - day one - about five days before your "trip" (or time off you need), start showing signs of not feeling well (use a lighter color of make-up/face powder and no blush), and seriously rub the heck out of your eyes to make them watery and red.
2nd - day two (four days before your trip), start faking "sneezing" "coughing" and a "sore throat". Gees girl, you are comin'g down with the flu.
3rd- day three (three days before your trip), you have to make an appt to go to the doctor to get something to take care of this "whatever" it is (go with the flu). Gees, you have "tada" a fever.
4th- day four (two days before your trip), come in to the office (but showing signs of complete exhaustion), bring "old RX bottles" (be careful that nobody gets a close look since they are not current") and then... around 1 or 2pm, you say, "Boss, I just have to go home. I have a fever, and I have to go.
5th- day five (one day before), you have the worst case of flu you have ever known. It's so bad, your Mother has to call in for you (or whomever)... or if you do it, do your best acting job on showing you are sick.
THIS WORKS GREAT. My friend pulled this same thing off several years ago, and I created her an aware on some of that "fake award paper" you can get at Michaels for an Academy Award" for Bullshit!
It was hillarious. Several years went by and she and I (we were friends for years ), and we saw her old boss, and she told him what she did to see if he could remember it, and he totally cracked up. He said "You are very good, but you are fired." tehe. He was funny. She wanted to go on some trip (I can't even remember it)... She had sick days left, but no vaca days. So, this is what she pulled, and I'm telling you she pulled it off, but it was planned out well in advance. :)

Death in the family. preferably someone close, but not someone like a mother or father who could show up and ruin the whole thing since you only have one...... death of a sibling maybe, since you can have fourteen who die and no ones the wiser. Cruel, but effective.
