If you want to work in retail, then go for a 'behind the scenes role' like working in the stockroom, doing the paperwork or doing audits. if you find a large retailer they should have plenty of roles that don't involve you having to serve/talk to the customers.

Sure, but you would have to work in the middle of the night, and would have to go through training for a while.
You can also be a baker at a grocery store.
