You take a look at the media, a race car accompanied by a woman dressed scantily. In short, women are being used as objects to distract the interest of men. However, Islam wants to avoid this and asks women to wear proper decent clothings and other rules for the safety of women. However, these rules are labelled as against women rights. Do people want muslim women also to be used as objects just like some other women??

Because they dont have rights in some places. Alot of so called islamic countries do not give muslim women the rights that are owed to them in the Quran. Even in islamic countries people are corrupted by bribery and tribal kinship. A woman has no authority to prevent her husband from divorcing her and destroying her name. So basically women are at the mercy of their local governments chosen interpretation of the Quran.

In Islam, Women are allowed to wear what they like & many Muslim women choose to cover themselves as well as what they have worn, with a hijab (or a covering) in the presence of unknown men.

Isn't that great? They could be wearing jeans, tops or absolutely anything else they wish.

What's "people's" problem? Their problem is, they are unable to see the beautiful Muslim women adorned in their beautiful clothes & jewelery, radiating charm & innocence. They want to undress these women with their lustful eyes in their dirty minds.

Since their haram needs are not fulfilled, these lusty men get terribly frustrated and try to do something about this situation. So they try the same trick with the Muslim women that they tried with their own women. Namely, awaken them about their 'rights' over their bodies & how these rights can be exercised by removing the slavery of clothes.!

But they forget that even though innocent, a Muslim woman is still a slave only of Allah swt & not anyone else. She will do only as Allah swt has commanded her. Nothing else will matter to her, Alhamdulillah.

As for some women who do such things, well, Allah swt is the best judge. May he guide even such women to the right path. Ameen.

The rules are against the rights of women. Why aren't the men being ordered to show self control and have rules foisted on them ? Why is it the women who must change what they do so that they are not in peril from the lusting eyes of men?

Women's rights is about equality between the sexes. Wanting to protect and treasure a women is nowhere near treating her as an equal. And forcing rules on her so that men don't have to take responsibility for their own lack of self control is taking her rights away.

In the non-Muslim world, women have the right to dress the way they want and not all western women dress scantily. Women who dressed scantily want to be objectified and that is their right too. If a Muslim woman decides to covers herself from head to toe, she has also the right to do that.

Those "scantily dressed" women have the right to wear what they please. What they do is not based on how it will affect a man. In Islam, the entire focus is on the men. That means that the women are second class citizens to a man, and are there merely to serve men, pro-create, and keep their mouths shut. Period.

If women in Islam thought your ideas were right, then why do so many acquire makeup and sneak around about it? Why do they want to dress up and appear pretty, contrary to the wishes of Islamic men? The answer is, they want to be free. They want to decide how they want to look. They don't want to be forced to wear what they do. But, they also do not want to be beaten either. So they end up wearing the disgusting Islamic clothing. It amazes me also how Islamic men criticize Western women, but they're the first ones online slobbering over American women and soliticiting them for sex. I guess piousness only applies in public, but in private they are just as sleazy as the next guy. So much for Islam, huh?

Here in America, we appreciate the beauty of women. And if you will notice, on any race car magazine, those cars are mostly accompanied by photos of beautiful girls. Those girls are there because they WANT to be there, they are paid well for the photos, and the photos are very pleasing. They are free to choose what they want to wear, or what color hair they would like to have, or if they want to wear makeup or not. They're free to do as they please. They are not here to solely serve a man.

That's the difference between freedom and Islam. Your ideals are from back in the Stone Age.

I served in the war and I saw a Muslim who wanted another wife, just shoot one of his wives by accusing her of cheating, so he could marry another because he could not afford three wives, and Muslim men can do that over there. Women had to walk two paces behind their men, they do not bath with their husbands, they cannot drive, they have to ride in the back of a car and you talk about freedom. Women are for babies and men are for...please, if thats a women's world, I will never be Muslim. However Muslim women over here drive, (even though there is prejudism and the men get away with having two wives even though its a gainst the law over here) and go out by themselves, pump gas and can wear their burqua/abaya without any problems.

Well, in the U.S, no one says that women HAVE to dress scantily. In fact, many chose not to. That's the beauty of it. Unfotunately in many islam-dominated countries ( and other highly religious ones ) women do NOT get that kind of choice. They are forced do be fully covered ( sometimes to the extreme, in which case they can develop vitamin deficiencies and bone loss due to the underexposure to sunlight ), and the major reason for it (at least that's what I hear) is that they ARE treated as objects that are owned by their husbands, and therefore must be protected from the gaze of other men. Is this not true? do correct me if I'm wrong.

In Western culture, no one FORCES women to dress scantily. It's a woman's personal choice. In strict Islamic countries, the women have to be covered. If not, they will be flogged and/or do prison time.

So I don't see how you can say Islam gives women more rights than Western culture.

every single person in the world, regardless of race, gender, or religion, should be able to CHOOSE what they want to wear. nobody should ever have that much power over ANYONE else that their clothing choices are dictated to them.

to have someone tell you that you HAVE to wear a particular piece of clothing IS taking away someone's rights. many muslim women like to wear the full body dress, and that is absolutely fine, as long as it is her choice to wear it and that she is not being forced to.
