While the salon spray tan works much better than any store bought product. It seems to only look good for a short while too. I had that done last summer before I went on vacation and after a day in the water, it started looking blotchy. It was done professionally and was kinda expensive too. Best bet is to just use a tanning bed/booth. Sorry, I know that's not what you wanna hear but I am being totally honest. But hey, if its for prom or something like that, the salon spray would be great for a couple days.

'Follow these 5 rules for a streak-free tan:
1. Experiment: Try different formulations to find the ideal one for your skin tone. For example, fairer skins should opt for gels or light lotions that give a subtle tan. Olive or darker skin types should opt for creams and thicker lotions for a deeper colour.
2. Exfoliate & moisturise: Pay attention to areas prone to rough or dry skin, like the elbows, knees and ankles.
3. Apply with light strokes: Sweep the fake tan all over your body, avoiding the dry areas. When most of the lotion has been applied, lightly stroke over these areas to give a subtle colour.
4. Wash hands: But to avoid a contrast in colours between the hands and arms, apply a small amount of self tan to the back of the hands and rub in gently with the opposite back-of-hand.
5. Let it dry: You need to wait patiently for at least two hours before dressing.'

If you don't want to go to a tanning bed and you prefer the rub on stuff...I would suggest getting the spray tan at the salon. I can always tell when someone has used the stuff at home.
