Aww, why rush things?! Just let your baby tell you when it's ready to be born. Most of the things that they say can help start labor ...eating spicy foods, climbing stairs, having sex... aren't really proven to be true. They might work a small percentage of the time but who's to say that at 37 weeks you wouldn't have started labor on your own anyhow? Instead of trying to figure out ways to start labor try concentrating on the joy of being pregnant just a few more days or weeks. Take some pictures of your ready-to-pop belly, put finishing touches on the nursery, start filling out the baby book, go get a manicure or pedicure... And let baby finish cookin'...! Congratulations!

I know how you feel, at 37 weeks I felt like I had been pregnant forever, I tried everything to get my son out, Castor oil and orange juice, well that just gave me the runs, brisk walking, just really tired and had a sore back, ride in a car over a dirt road over all the bumps, was alot of fun but still no sign of labour starting, sex, well that just got me in this predicament to begin with and it didn't start labour, even had a hot bath, and still no luck.. I ended up being over due and when I went to the doctors, he gave me a date to be induced, well wouldn't you know it the night before I was meant to be induced, I went into labour.. 9 days late.. I wish you the best of luck, maybe one of the things I suggested above may help you, but unfortunately there is nothing 100% full proof to begin labour at home, just have to wait till our bodies are ready, and the wait can seem like a life time..
Good Luck, I hope all goes well for you..

you want to start labor now why? it is safer for the labor to start on its own unless you are over due or have a medical reason for it. with my daughter labor started on its own but needed helped out, with my son i was induced early (about 2-3 weeks) because his head was larger than the rest of his body and the doctor's office wanted to avoid a c-section. it was a good thing because he had his 1st bowl movement in before delivery, however he has had many medical problems. he had to get steroid shots to make sure his lungs were fully developed and such.
so please unless your doctor wants you to start labor just wait...it will happen naturally and your baby will be better the longer he/she is in your uterus.

I drank a cup of Thyme tea. it is a herb most likely in your kitchen. it can start contractions. i drank it and 12hrs later, i was on my way to the hospital. it tastes nasty though, i have a friend who baked it into her lasagne and it worked for her too.

My advice ... leave em in the cooker... let nature take its course. Better to be safe than sorry ;)
