I just read Black Like Me and I enjoyed it. I'm a really big reader, but, unfortunatly, school has been sucking up all of my time. I have some free time coming up and I want to read a really good book. Do you guys have any good suggestions? I'm pretty much open to anything.

These are the books I recently read that blew my mind:

1. NEXT by Micheal Crichton
2. Hyperspace by Dr. Michio Kaku
3. The Universe in a Nutshell by Stephen William Hawking
4. Experiencing Poverty by Stanely Etizen

The fourth book is really a collection of stories from those who experience poverty within the United States. Very interesting read how people are literally forced by our social structure into poverty. Book trys to explain how unnecessary and avoidable poverty could be in the United States.

If you like science fantasy at all, you should check out Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series. Honest to god life changing reading for me. Magic's Pawn is the first in a 3 parter that is just stunning.

If you like Science Fiction, try Robert Heinlein, I really enjoyed those when I was in school. Just about anything by him was good, but especially what they classify as his "juveniles". Just really fun reads - Space Cadet is a great one.

I've read a few good books, but most recent (therefore the 1 I can remember most readily) is 'Sophie's World' by Jostein Gaarder. It was recommended for my philosophy unit at uni, it is fun and deep and meaningful at the same time.

If you want something quick to read I suggest "Dinner with a Stranger" or "Who Moved My Cheese".
