He went from wearing one his lapel, then went to the classic hand mic. Why?

Sorry Trav--you have been watching reruns of "Family Feud'!
Ray Combs committed suicide. To catch you up, after Ray passed, Richard Dawson came back for one season, then they went into syndication. First Louie Anderson,(a really fat stand up comedian) then Richard Karn (Al on Home Improvement) and currently John O'Hurley (Mr. Peterman on Seinfield) have done the honors as host!
We could totally get the Ouija board out and ask Mr. Combs why he was so fickle about his mikes but I suspect he's pretty busy wherever he is so that may not be possible.

Because when the mike is connected to your lapel it picks up everything. He was once "overheard" saying something the rest of the audience should not have heard. so with a hand held mike you have to be more conscience of it and put it to your face thus making is a little harder to be overheard.

Yeah i think the other one broke so they went with the old hand mic and never replaced the other one.
