my sisters guinea pig isnt doing too well. like i just noticed that it was sitting really still so i gave it fresh water and some celery. its not eating and hardly drinking and my mom noticed some of his bedding in his mouth i think its like pine bedding or something i dont really know and we dont want him to choke on it but i know its making him really weak cause hes not moving just laying there trying to swallow. we cant bring him to the vet right now cause its 2.00 am. and we just want to know if he will be able to eventually swallow it. my sister says that he has already swallowed it but hes still making the swallowing movement. were seriously lost! what should we do!

First off its not the bedding probably, since you tried to give him water his mouth was wet and hes too weak to get the shavings that are stuck to his mouth out. Clean his mouth out the best you can. The swallowing motions are probably him struggling to breath better.
Secondly he probably has some respitory ailment and forcing too much water in him can compound the problem especially if there is water in his lungs already. Pick him up, listen to his breathing, is it raspy and labored? Does he have Diarreah? I dont want to scare you but Guinea pigs, once sick dont last long, So until you can get to the vet, you need to keep him warm. Wrap him in a towel, not too tight, keep him warm and dry. Dont force any more water into him. There is little you can do with out medications. Especially if its Upper Respitory. Hopefully he will hang on till you get to the vet.
Kiln Dried Pine Bedding thats dust free is not dangerous. Its the recycled paper industry that says that. Cedar Shavings with the oil in them is dangerous. I have used Pine Shavings and CritterCare combo mix for 10 years, and Pine shavings for the 7 years before that and NEVER had a litter problem. As long as the shavings are as dust free and oil free as possible there is no harm in them. I vouch for it. Never had a pig die of Bedding related problems, or constipation from eating shavings.
Ive raised show pigs for 17+ years and run a rescue.

First of all, Pine bedding is VERY dangerous for guinea pigs....you should be using Crittercare. If he is not eating or drinking...or moving, he needs the vet ASAP. Take him to a 24 hour ER Vet Animal Hospital. He will die if you don't. Guinea Pigs are very fragile animals. How old is he? What have you been feeding him? How long have you had him? Email me and I might be able to help you. He could be injured, dehydrated, have scury, or a respiratory infection. Is he the only piggie or are there more?

in case you, your brother and your father have hay fever, whether that's purely person-friendly, i could recommend to no longer purchase the guinea pigs. The hutch shouldn't stink up your outfits as long as you preserve it sparkling. while you're desperate to get the guinea pigs, and you haven't any longer owned any till now, i could analyze their species somewhat extra to be certain you have the right equipment and time to possess them.

it is stuck in his throat try using a baby bottle and make him drink something thick like milk. But before that try using your finger to help push it down. (your smallest finger) do it for a short time so he can get a breath
