Shaving cream...no, really. It works better than anything you might think. Kinda scary, actually

Do you mean old fashioned linoleum or vinyl flooring? They are made of very different things and need to be cleaned differently. Vinyl is much more touchy and can be damaged by many kinds of cleaners.

Try hairspray. I know this sounds silly but I used hairspray on my linoleum floor to remove splotches of ink pen my 18 year old son got on the floor and it took it all off! Try it and see what happens. The ink dissolved as soon as I sprayed it on. Can't even tell it was there. Good luck.

i went to the store and got some adhesive remover. it also gets rid of inks and crayon marks off from walls. try MR. CLEAN magic erasers people swear by these things for getting scuff marks from anything. try some WD-40 it will remove tar from car bodies with out hurting the paint and it has a kerosene base to it.

I would try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It gets footprints off of plastic shower tubs and crayon off of walls and doors...actually, everything I've tried to clean with it has worked.

try Go Jo hand cleaner. you can find it at hardware and auto parts stores. if you get the one with pumice in it you can scrub the stain a bit. then wipe the area with the simple green to clean the go jo off. good luck.

i'd try these 3 in this order
1. baking soda( make thin paste with water
2. bleach
2. lighter fluid (it's true, great for shoe marks too but be very careful, takes very little)
