If you want a laptop with a crap keyboard and a flimsy lid that breaks as soon as you try to open it, then get an Acer.

If you want a PC thats built like a tank and doesn't break even after a trip down the stairs then get a HP!

HP. I say this because as a PC tech, I find the easiest PCs to repair are HPs, They have an excellent recovery system and good support! Dell? Forget it!

I've never heard of Acer, but I know that HP is a very good brand, off the shelf or customized.

For the same spec/price you would always choose HP over Acer.

The best Laptop manufacturer for price/performance is Toshiba.

HP and Acer ?

I have one of each used daily and cant see that
one is better than the other.

Keep them properly updated and defraged and
you cant go wrong.
