After Japan surrendered after ww2 Communist china (china had a civil war in the 30s) it had split up into many different clans, then in 1937 Japan attacked china because of the marco polo incident that happen near Nanjing... by 1939 the war reached a stalemate and japanies although superior lacked strength in the army (china had half a billion people if i recall) After ww2 ended japan pulled out of china and two main factions survived the Nationalist China and the communist... the Nationalist where extremely hurt during the war because they where larger although communist china was extremely small and had held out in the mauntians that is the only reason why they survived.. also the fact that they used a doctrine of small units to hurt whole jap divisions (like commando army)... so after the war ended communist china attacked the nationalist and got extreme support from the people from china and the soviet government by 1948 the communist had won and the natalist china retreated to tiwan before japanies island that was given to them after ww2 and the communists couldn't attack it because it was an island that is why there is much tentnion between them today (if anyone was wondering)

Marxism instilled new ideas into the minds of everyone on the eurasian continent, especially with the Russian Revolution. Many socialist parties started off small (most of them remained that way), however during WW2 when Japan overthrew the already weak Asian governments and took over, then lost the continent at the end the communist parties gained more support. In China, Mao Zedong won a civil war against a non-communist group. In Korea, the penninsula split and the Korean War began soon after.
