I think all tobacco should be banned period. I am a nurse and I won't even begin to tell you the horrors I have seen as a result of cigarretes and chew. Funny how our country bans some prescription drugs because they harmed a few people, but thousands upon thousands suffer from the effects of tobacco and nothing is done.

Movies generally depict reality - in reality there are people that smoke - should drinking of alcohol be banned in movies, should taking pain relief medicine be banned in movies - these simple things can often turn into addictions as well and also damage your health. If they ban smoking in movies they should also ban these - there is an increase in young people drinking alcohol already. Besides if people are going to smoke I doubt that seeing a movie would make them take it up - most people i know that smoke their family members such as parents smoked so really who should we blame? The parents or the governments? We know that governments get money from the sale of cigarettes and if they're really that much of a health risk that they advertise why haven't they banned them altogether.

Yes. I'm sick of all this BS about "setting a good example" for our youth. I'm a teenager, and I have quite a few friends who smoke, yet I have never taken a drag in my life. I don't understand the whole thing.

No, my state recently voted to ban it in almost all restaurants.
It should not be a part of our culture anymore and that includes films.
