I was arrested two years ago for disorderly conduct, and i wanted to know what the procedure is for having that charge sealed, so that it will not be accessible to the public.

Each state is a little different. I can give you the answer under Kentucky law.

If it was dismissed or you were found not guilty, you can file a motion to have the charges expunged after 60 days. It costs nothing to do this unless you hire an attorney of course.

If you were found guilty, then five years must pass and during that five years you can have no other charges. The charge cannot relate to the neglect or abuse of a child. There is a $25 fee to have charges that you were found (or plead) guilty to expunged. You will need to get a copy of your criminal record from Frankfort in order to show that you have had five years of clear conduct.

Again, I stress, this is for the state of Kentucky only.

Good luck.

If you are a minor get to it. Must have parent or guardian be with you on this. If you are an adult records are permanet.
