i am posting an item on ebay for 340.00 and 25.00 shipping and someone offered 420.00 to end the auction. the problem is i am in the US and he is in Nigeria but paypal has said that the buyer has sent out a money order on paypal should i cancel it?

It's a scam. A classic scam. And you can't "send" a money order on Paypal, to my knowledge.

Take a few bucks and open your own PayPal account. I believe that you'll find that PayPal doesn't do business in Nigeria, and that the communications that you think you've been receiving from them are false.

Then modify the terms of your auction to accept payments through PayPal, using only communications through PayPal or eBay. Read their discussions about fraud carefully.

the email you recieved is FAKE! it DID NOT come from PAYPAL! it came from the SCAMMER!

report the bidder for attempting to pay with fraudulent funds. do it now!

copy and paste the email from "paypal" (the scammer) and send it with your report.

ITS DEFINATELY A SCAM. The letter from paypal is a fake letter sent to your email address. Also Paypal does not accept money order payments.

i replace into gonna say u get entouch or email PayPal yet besides the fact that happens do no longer deliver something except the money is in ur account.era.they might whinge yet PayPal can close ur account or do something to harm ur business enterprise except u gained & did no longer honor the deal.I won't do any business enterprise with Nigeria.such distinctive crroks accessible that may do such distinctive gruesome tricks.

I think eBay itself tells you to beware of buyers from certain African countries, Nigeria being one. Don't accept his bid, and don't ship anything over there.
