WRONG. Your problem is in the form
N ^ p = N raised to the power of p, where N is any number or expression, p is any number that represents HOW MANY TIMES N should be MULTIPLIED.
Example 1) a ^ 3 means a x a x a
2) 3 ^ 4 means 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 = 81
3) ( N + 2) ^ 2 means (N +1) x (N + 1)
GOT IT ?
So your problem, (2x +3) ^2 Means (2x + 3) (2x + 3) =
2x (2x) + 2x(3) + 3 (2x) + 3(3)
(simply multiply the first no. to the 3rd and 4th no., ADD and then multiply the 2nd no. with the 3rd and 4th no.)
Simplify : 4x^2 + 6x + 6x + 9 = 4x^2 + 12x + 9
The answer is 4^2 + 12x + 9

(2x + 3)^2 is the same as (2x+3)(2x+3). Use the FOIL technique. First Outside Inside Last
(2x)(2x) + (3)(2x) + (3)(2x) + (3)(3)
4x^2 + 12x + 9

that problem is very easy to solve
(2x+3)^2.....what does the power mean, it means that u should multiply (2x+3) by itself, that is,
(2x+3).(2x+3)....what we get therefore is
4x^2+6x+6x+9.....simplify where possible
4x^2+12x+9...here is the answer

(2x + 3) . (2x - 3)
in this type of problem, a method called difference of two squares is applied as written above.
where "." implies multiplication
Therefore,
( 2x .2x) + (2x . -3) + (3 . 2x) + (3. -3)
4xsqd - 6x + 6x - 9
4xsqd - 9
Good luck!
