I am a card-carrying member of the ACLU. Quite proudly.

Still doesn't make me a liberal. In fact, the closest category I would fit into would be libertarian. Minimal goverment with respect for the rule of law.

I support the ACLU because it unconditionally supports the Constitution. That's its sole and exclusive goal.

Just like I support anyone's right to express their personal opinion. Whether I agree with that opinion or not.

If I were Coragryph, I would take your question as a compliment.
It seems you have a problem with 'well-thought out answers'?
BTW, don't let Fox News and the likes of Limbaugh and Coulter form your opinion of the ACLU.

Actually, the world would probably be a lot better off if we all belonged to the ACLU.

After all, it is the American Civil Liberties Union.

Personally, I love having my civil liberties. If I want to speak my mind to the point of being an @55hole, and beyond, then I'm glad the ACLU is there to help me.

One of the core principles of our Constitution is to "Secure the blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity." The ACLU helps to make sure that actually happens.

So, if you want to have more of a conservative police-state...then by all means, keep talkin' smack about the ACLU.

I'm not a member yet, but maybe I'll sign up.

Good Luck! (you're gonna need it)

;o)

The man has more brains than you.

Gee, I missed the well thought out liberal answers. All I see here is hatred for Bush. Not a good personality trait.

The funny thing is, you probably intended your question to be an insult to Coragryph.

It's too bad more people didn't give the well thought out answers that he does.

He at least has brains...quick typist too.

Question for ya...Why does everyone who wants the US to remain FREE end up being painted a Liberal? You know it is GOOD to ask questions...the Government certainly asks you for money for their pay checks.

he's pretty sharp... one of the few people I've actually learned something from on here... and I have to give him credit for that...

I don't always see eye to eye with him...but I wouldn't be too surprised if he wasn't right when we didn't...

but you can't always be right...
