512mb RAM is not sufficient to support graphic-heavy NFSMW

change all the graphic/video settings to their lowest / minimal settings

make sure you have the latest video drivers

Turn the game's resolution down to 800x600, and the graphics quality settings to minimal, if you want to run it on that system. I have a 2.8 Ghz Opteron 170, which is the equivalent of a ~5.5 Ghz Pentium 4, plus an X1900XT video card and 2GB of system RAM, and I can't play that game @ 1600x1200 resolution, unless I turn the video quality settings WAY down.

Luckily, I have a CRT monitor, and always game @ 1152x864 resolution, so I can crank the graphics nearly all the way up in NFS: Most Wanted, F.E.A.R., etc. I'm surprised that it let you install the game at all, with only 512 MB of system RAM.

You'd need about a 3.6 Ghz P4, plus a 7900GS or X1950 Pro video card, plus 2GB of system RAM, to be able to play that game at 1280x1024, or medium in-game graphics settings. It was the toughest game for any system to run, until Oblivion came out.

The graphics look bad because you don't have the hardware to run it. You need a major RAM and video card upgrade. Hardware upgrades are much easier to install then you think, you can do it yourself, What parts you should get depend on how much you want to spend.

As a Min. i would get 1GB of ram and a a Geforce 6600 or eq.

There's no way your playing the game on nice graphics without upgrading your PC.

Check your resolution settings. If that doesn't help, try reinstalling the game. Adding a tad more RAM could help, but tell me this much: is it running on Vista or XP? If XP, then 512 should suite you ok, but with vista, 1gig is the recommended minimum, meaning, 1gig is what you should have to have a computer worth its weight in paper bags. Run a full antivirus and antispyware scan to ensure that nothing is wrong and run disk defragment and chkdsk. For further instructions, don't hesitate to contact me! (Namely if none of these work or you don't know how to use one)

Well i have run this game under 512 ram and it runs excellent. if you have an internal graphics adapter(Builtin motherboard) try changing it to an external adapter(the one that plugs on you VGA / PCI Express Slot)

Internal VGA Cards dont perform that well with games

Hope this helps

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
