They buy so many things. How do they enjoy what they have? Is it a security matter? Ego? Mental illness?
Please bring some sense to why women have to get and get.
PS - I have one pair of shoes, and am perfectly comfortable and happy.

It goes back to the primeval time of our hunter gatherer roots. Women typically like to look everything over and gather many things that a family might need. In society today a family may be just one person, so they are just protecting family.

It goes back to the hunter/gatherer time. Women hunt for clothing, ie handbags, shoes, and jewelry and then hoard it for later need. There is actually some research to back this up, but I'm not sure where.
Also, shopping releases endorphines and dopamine (the chemical that makes you happy) and seratonin which also makes you happy. So if it feels good, do it.
My husband is just as bad when it comes to video games and consoles. Think about it, I'm sure there is something that you buy to a ridiculous extent.

Why we love to shop?In today's world there are different type of clothes and styles for us women.Even in shoes their are many designs and colors that in our mind we must have.Men minds are different then ours.men have a one track mind while women on the other hand does not.Yes we enjoy what we have.We are not sick or mental ill.We love to have things that men thinks is garbage.Also men have things also that us women think is a waste of time and money.

Why don't guys like to shop is the real question.
Ok real answer i dunno i guess it's cause there are just so many things that you can wear and you dont always want to look the same. Sometimes u dress by the mood ur in and you have alot more choices by the clothes you have. Alot of guys also like to shop for shoes and sweatchirts and stuff or the coolest icecreams (shoes dont know how to spell them)

well one pair of shoes is a little extreme. i dont like to shop and im a woman but there is a certain practicality in having several pairs of shoes.women like clothes maybe it makes us feel more secure all the years of the man holkding us down ya know

Because women are more fashion savvy. Guys aren't too into what they wear and how one thing looks with the other. Women like to make things match and wear different outfits, it's boring to wear the same thing over and over. You may complain about women buying all kinds of clothes but don't they look pretty when they put it on?

because society is dominating over them, and this is a consumer society. the main message we get from the media at large is to consume things. spend spend spend and be happy. it the women are influenced the most with respect to purchasing fashion, which is more widely aimed at them. the mall, and other shopping outlets, cater directly to the need to purchase. all this spending is hidden within the underlying notion that purchasing material items will bring you happiness. and so the cycle continues, and women flock to the mall, as men flock to future shop....

No, in all seriousness, it's just natural for everybody to buy a lot. Just as many boys collect action figures and baseball cards, but eventually, society dictates that we are supposed to outgrow that. However, outdated chivalric values also dictate that guys are supposed to indulge their women, and parents their daughters, so a girl is never really discouraged from shopping. By the time she has to support herself, she's an addict already.

Women are filled with ego & are always in competition with fellow-women, hence they can be easily convinced to buy what others already have. Sometimes they themselves admit they end up buying something they don't need.

Not all women like to shop. I've noticed that some women (like my sister) are in relationships and when they get lonely because they haven't heard fromt their significant other or been around them so they decide to shop take their minds off them
