that there are several teams that do not have the names of the players on the back of the jersies? Just a weird observation on my part.

no real good reason for it. just the preference of the coach on the team. some coaches prefer the "team" concept and do not put their players names on the back just to reinforce that it is the team that wins and there are no stars. some just don't care. many do it from tradition, since names were not typically on jerseys from the 50s and 60s.

I believe the school chooses their own uniform style.If you ever watch pro Baseball, some teams have numbers, some have their names. It's their preference.
