When I first got out of college, I worked for a lady whose job was for me to have Globalize an American Corporation for International Standards and Cultural Awareness and Tolerance.
It was a pretty big joke.
The problem with all of that is the United States is really the only free country on Earth.
Name a country and society, and I can argue why they are repressed or under siege.
The USA isn't doing so great lately either.
But to answer your question, I think there is a Human Story in any country or culture, and most people on a 1:1 basis can get along pretty well. Most everyone has similar interests and values.
So, when we have technological advances: Internet, Air Travel, etc - most people can get-by anywhere in the world on a one-off basis. Western Values in general is why the Spanish, Portugese, Dutch, English and Americans have made such a large footprint around the world.
The East and Muslim worlds are a bit throwback in terms of making this a global society.

how does globalization bring people of the world closer together?
The answer is we all connected because is all about technology and why its because most of us see or chat with the person in internet. Also there are many examples of cultural factors that are shaping and changing the world today as part of the globalization process. They include areas such as : food, fashion, music, sport, religions and language and so that's why we all connected. If they weren't technology we won't be that connected much because there's not technology!!!!!!!

Globalization happens through better communications and transportation mostly. Seriously, people meeting on the Internet and flying to meet in person was never heard of not too long ago.
But you don't have to go that far. Just people of different nations chatting on the Internet means you can know a lot more about other parts of the world just from your leisure time.
