I have gotten the first shot, at that time i was a virgin. But im not anymore, im supposed to get my second and third shot still. I'm wondering if I can still get the shot? And if it will have any side affects since i am not a virgin?

[Don't really wanna tell my mom, she's against sex before marriage..]

It won't have any negative effects, however if your partner was infected with HPV and passed it onto you then the vaccine is not going to help you against that strain and you will run the risk of contracting cervical cancer or genital warts. The vaccine is recommended for young teens for this reason, the earlier a girl is vaccinated against HPV the less chance that she has already come into contact with the virus and the more useful the vaccine. Go ahead with getting your second and third shots, just recognize that you are not yet fully protected by the vaccine and are still vulnerable to contracting the virus.

The effects of the vaccine have nothing to do with being a virgin or not.
Now if you believe that you are pregnant, then that is a different story.
Ask your doctor or read the information on the Gardasil web site.

If your mom is so against sex before marriage, why is she having you get the shot?

You need to tell the person that is giving you the shots and they can tell you if you can get the rest of them. One thing though now that you are sexually active you need to get a pap smear and pelvic exam done yearly. If you haven't done this yet you may want to get this scheduled soon and get this done and out of the way for the year.

don't keep secrets from your mom. she might be disappointed, but you need to keep your communication open!!
call you doctor's office -you may not need an appointment for the remaining shots. some offices just have you go in and visit the nurse. Gardisil doesn't not protect you from all types of HPV, so always use a condom.
