FHA provides morgages on an entirely different basis than what banks and mortgage companies do. It provides lower income families without the means for accumulating a down payment the opportunity to own a home. There are alot of guidlines that must be met for an FHA loan but they are not the same as the usual route. Is that what you meant?

You are not being clear here, were you approved for the FHA loan. What is you debt to income ratio, because if you owe to many bills you still won't be able to get a loan but the loan officer should have told you why they denied your loan. and when FHA pre-qualified you they would have told you what you had to do to get the loan.
