Florida scored 71 points in the 2nd half against Niagra yesterday and looking at their road to the finals, it's by far the less stressful. With that being said, Florida has been literally beating up on teams in the SEC (who I might add is now 5-1 in the tournament, with two of their teams scoring 100 or better in the first round). If that's any indication of the quality of the SEC and the fact that Florida has dominated that conference, then it's definitely Florida all the way.

And of course there's the fact that Florida beat Ohio State by 26 points earlier this season and only lost by 2 to Kansas in OT in the Las Vegas Invitational. This Florida team has as much talent as the 1991-1992 Duke team's that won back to back National Championships.

After watching UNC with Michigan State tonight, I think a possible Texas matchup will put them out of business. And if not after watching Ohio State's gritty play with Xavier, OSU will take them down in the Final Four. And I've obviously made my case with a Florida/Ohio State matchup.

Kansas would be my second pick because of their success as of late, but their road to the Final Four is a little bit tougher then Florida's. So I give the edge to the Gators.

OH COME ON!!!! You gotta be kidding me! No one has even mentioned TEXAS A&M??? I hate it when people do this. they think a school will have a little spurt and quit. You wanna know why the Aggies can win it all?

1. Acie Law IV. He's unstoppable in the last five minutes of play. He keeps a level head and just takes over. Examples?

Texas: In 2006 he shot a 3-pointer to upset NO. 6 Texas. In 2007, he sent it into OT by shooting OVER KEVIN DURANT!It doesn't stop there though, he shoots a 3-pointer to send it into second overtime!
Kansas: Fear the Phog huh? Nuh-uh! Stutter step go ahead three pointer to win it!

2. Sharpshooter Josh Carter. He has the highest3-point percentage in the nation. If a team plays a 2-3 zone, (like texas did the first time and nebraska did.) they're dead. If he is open, he'll nail it.

3. Big men Joseph Jones and Antanas Kavilauskis. Joseph Jones would have been first team all big 12 if it wasn't for Mario Boggan. He only has Foul trouble. AK is a tireless worker that can get the easy layup.

4. Dominique Kirk. He is the aggies prime defender, holding his man to only 30% FG shooting. He can also hit the esy 3, as he as shown in the past.

5. Last but certainly not least, their team defense. They hold their opponents to an average of 56 ppg and still average 76 ppg on offense. They held 35 straight opponents under 50% FG shooting and kept like 15 straight teams under 70 points.

AGGIES ALL THE WAY

Ohio state...UNC is not mentally tough enough. If the same team returns next year, i would definitely pick them because they would be one year older and they would be mature and would have more experience. Not this year tho.

Ohio state plays goooood defense and defense wins big time championships with the intimidating oden in the middle and some prime time guards. Guard play is very important in the tourney, so ohio state all the way!

Georgetown Hoyas. I cant believe no one has mentioned them yet. No one in the east bracket has a body that can match up with Roy Hibbert. 7-3 the kid is a monster and dominates the interior. They rolled through the big east tournament which is one of the deepest conferences in the nation, and are very hot coming into the tourney having won 17 of 18. Also they have a quality point guard in jesse sapp who owns almost a 3 to 1 assist to turnover ratio. My only concern is there lack of effective depth with only one of their bench players averaging over 12 min and 5 pts. however, i dont see anyone in their region stopping them, if the meet OSU in the final four oden vs hibbert will be an incredible battle.
