Before birthcontol I had a normal 28day cycle. After being on the patch for nearly 3years Oct. 06 i decided to stop. Nov. i missed my period but it came righ on schedule for Dec. & Jan. Feb it was a week late & Mar. is a no show so far. I have taken HPT twice & results are negative. Has anyone expericence problems with their cycle after coming off birthcontrol, & are there any suggestions on how to correct the problem. I have an appointment with my doctor April 1st.

i am having the same problem. i have been on birth control for 8 years and i have only got my period twice since july 2006. i hate it but it takes a while for your body to make their own hormones again since the pill was doing all the work for it.

Your body has been fooled into thinking it was pregnant for a long time! Give it a chance to recover. I was very unusual in that my period came at the right time after stopping birth control (I had surgery that day, which can cause you to start!), but I was in the minority.... I think time is what will heal your problem. No worries.

I never experience something like that before.... Your body is trying to ajust.... It is a good idea to go to OB, just a check up... and there is no way you can adjust the the problem...
