A pattern is nothing but a series of elements. If you're still at a stage at which you have to thing about each of the elements, it's tough. With experience, the elements become more automatic, and the longer patterns and segments of choreography become your sole focus, and it's easier, so just keep at it, and it will get simpler.

Im sorry, i know this answer will annoy you, but it is true, you just have to practise. The more you practise, the more you will beocme used to the moves, so you will pick them up quicker next time.
make sure you know the names of moves, and if you dont get the dance, just fluke it until you have time to practise alone!!!
Good luck! Hope that helps

I have the same problem. I do showdance and find it really difficult. As everyone else said, it's just practise. I practise everywhere, my feet are dancing under my desk now.
You could also write down the moves.

Practice Practice Practice. Practice makes perfect. It would also help if you attend dance classes; observing other people dance would also help you in developing your own technique. Have fun!
