because its a kids network and thats when adult shows come on like how the kids leave the pool when they announce that it is time for an adult swim

i believe the pool thing is sort of right, in on sense, but they probably chose it because I it sounds like "adults' whim"- the creators for that programming are pretty clever guys, obviously. I'm sure they saw the double entendre- which apparently seems to actually end up meaning the same thing to everyone. I'm mean really how random a title would adult swim be if I didn't have some deeper meaning? Think people.

Because when you go to the community pool, the 'adult swim' is where all the children need to get out of the pool so the adults can swim in peace. The cartoon network adult swim is called that because its time for the kids to go to bed because its on later and the cartoons are for adults.

I guess to understand this you would have to have frequented a public pool at some time. I remember all the kids having to get out of the pool for, like, half an hour every few hours or so, so the adults could use the pool without kids horsing around intheir way and stuff.

Because it's on Cartoon Network, and since that's a kids network, if adult material is on there they should make that name.

because we don't want to have our younger generation exposed to what we like just yet, that's why they make kids leave the pool early, so that adults can have their fun too!! great show that adult swim! :)

If you doubt this, sell anything.
Add "adult" to the offering, and watch the traffic come.
