I took a test today. I was just wondering if the pregnancy hormones are detected if symptoms show.

I took a blood test 1 1/2 after my period. I was already getting symptoms so I don't know if that's too early. It's about a week till my next period is due.

If you took the test about a week before the expected date of your period it will be too early. There is a new pregnancy test and I can't think of the name of it at the moment, that is available only at your doctor's office that detects pregnancy 9 days after fertilization. For the standard urine over the counter pregnancy test, you'll have to wait at the very minimum, a day or two after you miss your period before the hormone HCG is detected in your urine.

Not always. You could be having false symptoms or have a faulty test. Re-test using a better, more reliable device. If still in doubt, schedule an OB-GYN visit. They will draw blood to check.

what did the test show was it postive sometimes you may have to wait a couple days after your period to take a test i know with my second child i was 2 months before they could tell unless you go get a blood test, what symptons are you having?
