Not exactly the opposite side of the world, but indeed the opposite sides of the country. My best friend from elementary school - I moved accross country, and later found out she lived inthe same state and had for years, just as I was moving to another state.

Unbelievably, yes. I became friends with a German exchange student in high school. Years later, while I was in Berlin, I saw him at a soccer game. We knocked back some Weizen, and went to see The Wall: Live In Berlin. It was cool.

yes! I saw one of my mums best friends brothers (basically an 'uncle') in san francisco on fishermans wharf while i was out a friend...i knew him from when i lived in london! it was strange...

YES!! It was so weird... I was studying abroad (Italy) and while having lunch in Rome, at the next table was my high school choir instructor on her honeymoon!!!!
We both damn near fell off our chairs.
