sociology is the study of people (especially in groups) and is considered a social science. most sociology accepts the premise that many aspects of our lives are created through our social interaction.

geography is the study of the earth, its features, and the distribution of people on the earth. it is between the physical sciences and the social sciences, depending on what type of geography you are interested in.

i've taken both at college and soc is a lot of reading of theory and a lot of writing about said theory.why do people kill themself, what causes marriages to break up, ect. there is a theory (s)for each one.

geography was a lot of reading on theries on human migration patterns, how weather effects said migration. why areas are no longer maintaing a population. how borders are changed due to climate/political/earth changes.

both can study the same topics and there is over lap the difference is who they go about working the answer.
