I bought my first CD in 1985. I don't remember the Beastie's at all until about 1987. I'd bet that it was available on cd AND cassette, as the two overlapped for quite sometime.

Ok I was actually alive in the 80's (thank you for making me feel old by the way) I remember first seeing c.d's in 1982. They didn't really become popular until around '85 or '86. As for the Beastie Boys c.d. I do remember when it came out and I do believe c.d's were around by then. So yeah it was on c.d
