I don't think so. There are plenty of other stories in the Bible that are worthy of a cinematic telling.

I'd like to see a depiction of the book of Acts or Job.

Kieslowski made The Decalogue. It's 10 mini-movies designed around the Ten Commandments.

It's worth checking out, especially if you like dark, artsy stuff. He later went on to make The Double Life of Vernoquie, and the Three Colors movies with Juliette Binoche.

For a Communist, decadent eurotrash guy, he has very good taste in actresses. He's dead, btw.

Absolutely!!! That would be awesome. Imagine the scourges of Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea, etc. with modern special effects!

Also, since this movie was made over 5 decades ago, most people think the commandments are "the suggestions."

God has made a solemn oath with this, the American nation, that as long as the majority follow him, we will be prosperous and be free from all enemies. It would be a good reminder for those of us, especially myself, about the consequences of not keeping our half of the deal.

No. Some things are best left alone. And it would be unfair to those who would try to match the awe created by the Cecil B. DeMille epic. Who could possibly match Heston as Moses? Brynner as Rameses? Baxter, Robinson, DeCarlo, Price, Derek, Carradine? The cast alone is unmatchable, and the grandeur that it was in 1956 would only be cheapened by today's CGI and other trickery. The Ten Commandments, like Gone With the Wind, is a standard, and as such should just be enjoyed as is.

There was a retelling done for tv last year called 'The Ten Commandments' and a new animated one is coming to theatres this year.
You ask if they should make a 'modern version'. Do you mean the Ten Commandments set in modern times? Because that just wouldn't work at all dude!

probably. i replace into watching this prepare and it replace into exhibiting how Miley's songs all have the comparable beat from previous recording artists songs as nicely. To me she's in elementary terms some replica cat artists who can no longer additionally be unique and make up her very own beat to a song. Ughh she sounds like a freakin chipmunk too.
