I am a 13yrold and i would love to understand the Theory of Relativity if anyone can explain the basics. All the best =]

Well since i am currently unable to ask any more questions to day i will add it here for now:
Can anyone give the basic outline of the string theory?

The speed of light is constant in space-time. The greater the rate of motion through space, the less the rate of motion through time, and vice versa.

You don't know what a complicated question that is and there no short answer. First of all there's two Relativity theories - Special Relativity which deals with why nothing can go the speed of light and General Relativity which is the theory of gravity.

I'd recommend getting a book on the subject from the library. "The Fabric of the Cosmos" by Brian Greene is superb and it's written for regular people so you won't need a physics degree to understand it.

you can't understand something that is extremely complex in a simple way. a superficial explanation will not give you the sense of the thing. only a deep understanding will and that comes from knowing the math behind it and all the physics it encompasses. depending on how smart you are my best suggestion to you is study math for right now.

string theory. dude these are just words to you. you can't sum up a theory that aims to be a the unified field theory in one paragraph, one page , one book or probably one anything.

sephen hawking dd some stuff on it. soo if you can find the video it's about 60 min long but is real good, you may have to watch it 2 or 3 times because it is very indepth....
Basicly Time is not a constant, same as the speed of light. They can be altered by gravity and other influances... check the library for them
