First you can try to shut off your printer and computer (did you save your work or whatever that you want to print out, cancel all the print job before you turn off), unplug the usb, wait about 30 seconds to one minute. then turn on the computer, then plug in the usb (doesn't matter at the port 1 or port 2) and turn on the printer, see if the printer works.

If you are going to uninstall the printer, you should be able to find the download at http://www.hp.com, go to support and driver or go to this link to search your printer http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_pagetype=s-001&h_lang=en&h_cc=us&h_product=236252&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&cc=us ,
there are quite a few printer that have 2800 number, after you find the printer, then go to product download - driver and software, you can download from there

If you have any more questions, you can try there technical support, email, phone....

HP usually has pretty good customer service when it comes to these sorts of things. First, you can go to their website and find the drivers, software, and installation instructions on your model of printer. If you are still having problems, I would find the number to their customer service from their website and give them a ring.
