The one that follows the other, is actually the smaller one, but it keeps following the big one, and looks like it is chasing or trying to bit the bigger one's bottom. not the fins, but the fish's butt. Coud it be that the smaller one is a male fish, trying to get some action? Or is it that the smaller one is just aggressive? i give them plenty of food, i'm not sure what if they are fighting about or if they are playing??? Thank you.

Goldfish are crazy.......... COuld be a lot but the little guy is just trying to prove that size doesnt matter. Its no the size of the dog but the size of the fight in the dog. See if this happens when the lights are off if it ceases it more or likely is a playtime if not I suggest seperating or getting a little goldfish to match his size so he has a friend to be with

No it is not because your fish is trying to get tail, its just that the smaller one has to follow the bigger one around. Thats the way the chain of command goes. You may be thinking it is becuase you dont feed them and you try to put in a extra flake here and there, but if you do this you are doing them more bad then good. Just put a lot of plastic plants and hide outs and your fish will be fine not that there is anything wrong here

There is always one fish in the bowl that is aggressive. You may need a bigger bowl, maybe they are bored also. They sometimes eat the others fins. You will probably have to separate them. I had a mean fish with several others, and I got mad at him and flushed him down the toilet. They probably should be in separate bowls. Separate them for now and then call the place where you bought them and see what they think.

Fish are born to have "school" behavior, much like dogs in a pack. The fish might be in need of some action or just bored or following the pack. I suppose they get bored too. Do you have little areas of seaweed, hiding spots and rock formations for them to play about in? If you have floating seaweed you might end up with little gold fish but they will also eat them too ....... good luck.

No your fish aren't weird! Thay have that type of behavior where they swim and schools and possibly the smaller one could be a male trying to get some ''action''

Forgive my answering with a question? But if I locked you in a cage or fish bowl would you want to be in front of a bigger fish or behind it? Sex nothing it’s just stay away from the big fishes mouth.

The bigger fish is in constant supply of food that when there's
no food available the little fish will eat what comes out the but on the big fish.

i'm wondering...
how big is their tank?
is there anything in there that would give the less aggressive fish a hiding spot?

when i had goldies, every time i had them in too small of a tank, they'd start biting each other and chasing and generally being jerks, but once they got in a huge tank they were much more peaceful. plants to swim through and hiding spots also kept them interested in their environment and less likely to bug eachother all the time. possibly i'm just reading into why mine acted the way they did, but your situation might be similar.
