i need help with the game "the Sims" ASAP?

Question

The first Sims game on Gamecube. I have made it to level 5. I'm married, I have 2 kids in school ( who don't miss school & have A+ grade averages), all my levels ( cooking, creativity, mechanics, ect.) are within 3 bars of being completely full. My husband has a job, everything seems ok. BUT i can't seem to "get promoted to career level 8" or "keep the kids in school" goals completed.
I haven't used any cheats.
Does this level take a long time to complete or could there be a glitch with my game?

Please help me. ASAP

I've played the game before and used cheat, but it messed my game up once while playing it. I couldn't get out of level 3 (living with mimi). so, i'm trying to play this time without the cheats. lol.

After I got promoted to level 7 ( the career level i'm on now) it told me before i got promoted to career level 8 i would need high levels of mechanics, charisma, body & logic. I've done all of those. and i still can't freakin get promoted.

I'm not sure how the Gamecube version works but I have the PC version. You might not be getting promoted because you might not have enough friends. Also make sure your kids go to school happy and make sure you go to work happy. :)

You must first see whether your next level of career requires any qualifications, like a high lvl of mechanics or cooking etc... You also must make sure that your Sim is in a happy mood before going to work, which means your mood bar must be green.
About your kids' grades, I am not so sure about that because my Sim is not married yet.

well it will take some time. once you get to like lvl 8 or 9 it take a long time to get promoted i even used cheat codes(i know i'm a cheater) and it still took a long time. So i hoped this helped.

You should try to get them so that each career skill is up to about 5, maybe a little higher. And with your kid problem, there may be a glitch with that.
