Of course not. From what i understand Bush truly believes that in a couple decades he will be hailed as a hero. His recent comparisons of himself and the War on Terror to George Washington and the Revolutionary War are frankly insulting.
I'd also like to point out that every time Democracy has been 'spread' in the middle east, a theocratic government is elected. The populations vote for whomever the imams (priests) tell them to vote for. The concept of separation of chuch and state is completely foreign, and as such they will NEVER have a truly democratic government in the Middle East.
Bush's premise, the spread of democracy in the middle east, is faulty in the first place. But I'm sure he has the best intentions, however misguided and naive they might be. I dont think he is willfully trying to destroy the country, although he has done a great job destroying our image overseas.
And to add on, if you haven't read the book "What Went Wrong?" by Bernard Lewis, professor emeritus at Princeton University's Near Eastern Studies Department, read it!
Its a phenomenal book that will give you insight into the intricacies of the Middle east. (and pretty short, 150 pages or so, for you lazy people)

Silly - Weren't you aware that when Cheney and Karl Rove told Bush to look for WMD's he was checking around the Oval office for them?? If he's that idiotic what makes you think he knows how to sign a resignation paper?? Besides he needs is speech writers to fill one out for him. Cheney is too arrogant to admit to any wrong-doing. When was the last time you tried to kill an attorney "friend" of yours and got away with it? Or was holding secret "energy" meetings. They have yet to sign a bill that further restricts, and reduces more pollutants and have all companies switch to the cleaner equipment. Everything he had on them was vetoed.
They have it too cushy. They're not going to resign, let alone even think about it.

They are not "hell bent on destroying the country." I don't agree with most of what Bush stands for. He is a man that sticks to his principles (no matter how wrong they are (e.g., amnesty, open borders, no pardon for Ramos & Compean yet, etc...))
Why should they resign? They haven't done anything illegal.

I doubt it has occured to either one, not with so many others to take the fall for them, and have so far. I do believe they don't think they are hurting this country or what it stand for, I think they have great deullions of what they are doing is right no matter how many others speak up in protest....

I don't know what all of your self loathing is about, but I think it's naive to believe that Bush and Cheney are up nights thinking of ways to screw us, but I think they are emboldened to special interests which are not compatible to our security. That is what is hurting us.

No, why would they? They will continue to do the jobs they were elected to do until 1/20/09.

No, I'm sure they never considered resigning. Why should they? The US is winning the war on terror. Soon your family won't have to worry about being blown to bits by some illiterate radical Muslim. That is what you want, isn't it?

How do you force your fingers to ask the same question that is asked 100 times a night?
You're number 1 buddy.
I imagine when those guys read the propaganda that is being written about them they think about giving up every once in a while and it's nothing you should be proud of.

NO, I don't think it occurs to them at all.
And why should you be bashed for asking this question? It's a perfectly valid question.

They never consider resigning, if you asked me. They're politicians in high places with lots of power. They've got to placate the public, but that doesn't mean they want to give up their positions for an instant.
