Marijuana is illegal and it will stay that way for a long, long time. Does that put your mind at ease?

If you really want to know some reasons for making it legal, it doesn't cause cancer, it is safer to drive a car on marijuana than on alcohol, it does not lead to bar room brawls, hostility, or violence in any way, it would eliminate the drug users by forcing clients to buy at stores. FYI, a 12 year old can buy dope before he can buy cigarettes, so legalizing it would force I.D. sales of it, thereby restricting under age consumption. It would eliminate unneccesary drug testing in corporation and schools, and it would re-evaluate what the government considers "dangerous", because marijuana is a schedule 1 drug, meaning they consider to be as lethal as heroin.

So why do people think it should be legalized? Basically, it is the lesser of the evils. If tobacco and alcohol are legal, why not marijuana, considering it kills a lot less people every year/day/second. As for it being a gateway drug, that is true, however alcohol can be just as much of a gateway drug, not to mention that the majority of drug users smoke tobacco before they smoke marijuana.

But basically my initial stament stands, marijuana will continue to be illegal for many years. Too bad it doesn't matter since there's a drug dealer on every block.

Smoke a joint that should do the job of easing your mind...You set that up .
But why not just trash both when it comes down to it whether it be tobacco or liqour all was allowed legal because of the money to be made from their sales.

I think they should legalize all drugs....think of the money we, the taxpayers, could save on cops, enforcement, prisons, crime.

I say give all the junkies a place to shoot up and die. They are a leech on society anyway - nobody would miss them...we could save a lot of money on welfare, treatment centers, methadone programs, needle exchanges.

If they want to smoke marijuana until their eyes turn back in their head - I say go at it.

We could open dope stores, with neon lights, tax the stuff......
